In July, my career tech school gave me the opportunity to attend the SREB Conference, an education conference that had a variety of presentations that encouraged educators to broaden their knowledge of connecting with students, building lesson plans that are engaging, sharing new tools and so much more.
Below is a list of A.I. tools that I have gathered throughout my time at the conference. It is almost overwhelming with the variety of options that are out there, therefore, I hope this list and short description make it easier to find ways that you can use or your students can use. I encourage you to try a tool, save these links so you can use them on a regular basis.
My opinion is that artificial intelligence is not going anywhere, and as a media teacher, I wish to equip my students with the ability to enter the workforce with the knowledge of how to use tools safely and enable them to be the best students they can be. AI is not a tool to replace you or me, but a way to enhance our ability to create, and make our time more efficient.
ChatGPT is my number one tool recommendation, if you are brand new to using AI.
Overall, I use AI to help with lesson plan ideas, writing emails, cover letters, summarizing ideas, write social media posts, blog posts, boost ideas for podcast topics, and so much more. Try it out and see what you think!
It's our job as educators to share with our students appropriate ways to use these tools so we can create a world that is still filled with integrity. I understand that some may feel that our students will lose their ability to learn to write, problem solve, communicate, but try to see it that students have to learn how to prompt AI, the better the prompt, the better the outcome. There is a need for revision and trying again and again to get the look and the feel they need. I hope we can encourage our world to use this as an extension of our arm, not in place of our arm.
As teachers, we have a limited amount of time available, and if there are tools that allow us to enhance our questioning techniques, build exams that are robust, let's use the tools and allow the technology to do the work for us so we can get back to things that only teachers are able to do, build relationships, teach empathy, share communication tips, and implement a love for learning.

Another option could be, redefine the recipe together as a class, the teacher could create a recipe the class designs together and celebrate as a class party when the AI unit is over.

There is also practice problems, you can receive a question along with multiple choice questions, students can choose an a practice answer and receive correct or why their answer was incorrect.
