Eat the way that works for you. For us, my husband has severe allergies and no matter the substitutions we did, DF, GF, etc did it change the fact he was sick alllll the time… so thanksgiving 2023 we cut out EVERYTHING, for us… it works. I know you’ll say, but I’ll miss…. You aren’t getting…. I could never… etc. totally fine like I said it has worked for us. We have done doctor visits before and after and things only looked “better” plus my pants fit better.

EASY ACTIVITY!
Get to know you activities shouldn’t stop because the first week of school is over. This is a quick and easy activity that is ongoing so every student gets a note card and you asked them to write down some sort of prompt on the note card. I hold onto the notecards and whenever we have an extra couple of minutes in the day, I will go through as many guessing cards before the bell rings or the guest teacher comes in. It’s just an extra activity I can pull out that doesn’t take a lot of prep time and doesn’t allow my kids to get too Squirrley because they have additional couple of minutes to themselves. Plus I get to know who they are.

this week, my high school class is focusing on empathy, our introductory activity was a paper plate. Students were asked to write all things that are filling their mind in life. They could be big moments small moments I even encourage them to write larger writing if the item took up more brain, power or emotion compared to other moments for instance going to the gym takes up a great deal of my mind so I wrote that larger on my plate. I also wrote lesson planning taking up a great deal of my time farm. Animals was smaller than writing the word family.

I asked students not to write their name on the plate and turn in their plate when they’re finished on day two I’ll pass out the plates and have a pass plate activity asking students to read. What’s on the plate Star to the words that they related with.
.
My hope is students will be able to make connections that we have a lot more in common than we think and when we read about what is going on in someone’s life, we can show understanding of the struggles that preoccupied are minds.
.
I teach at a career tech high school and adult campus in Oklahoma and one thing I want to encourage is strong, employability, skills or soft skills could be social emotional learning
